Zuoz, regarded as one of the most traditional and attractive villages in Engadin, is located about 17 km northeast of St Moritz. It has many cobbled streets, a lovely village square and fine old patrician houses. Prepared pistes, four ski lifts and a cross-country centre are winter attractions, whilst for summer visitors there are numerous summer hiking trails and a golf course (see separate entry). Parts of the San Luzi church, named after the patron saint, date back to the 13th century. Zuoz is home to 200 international students at the prestigious Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, established over 100 years ago.
