At Zuoz, located about 17 km northeast of St Moritz, you can enjoy coffee at the highest coffee-roasting establishment in Europe, found at an altitude of 1,715 metres. In 1914 Giuseppe Badilatti started to sell roasted coffee, now, three generations later, it is still a family run business. In the museum you can learn all about coffee-production and the coffee trade and how the coffee bean found its way to the Engadine valley. Photographs and paintings trace the social role of coffee over centuries and objects on display include antique coffee-roasters and coffee-mills, as well as their modern equivalents.
