The Musée d’Yverdon-les-Bains is yet another of the delights housed within the walls of the 13th century Savoyard castle. The museum’s permanent exhibition traces 6,000 years of uninterrupted history of Yverdon and the surrounding region. There are also departments dealing with navigation in antiquity concentrated around two Gallo-Roman boats, Egyptian antiquities. A newer section has been added on the more recent history of Yverdon (19th and 20th centuries), its revolutions, the democratization of the society, the "Belle Epoque" of the thermal baths, its industries and education system.
