The Wichingen Local Museum is located 18 km west of Schaffhausen and you might consider combining this with a visit to Haslach Lido (see separate entry). Apart from the exhibits relating to local history, geology, agriculture and local crafts, there is a representative collection of paintings by Swiss artist Jakob Ritzmann (1894-1990). Also adding interest are the rooms devoted to three local poets, Berta Hallauer (1863-1939), Albert Bächtold (1891-1981) and Ruth Blum (1913-1975). It is extraordinary that this small wine village should produce three poets in such a short time frame.
