The landmark Werthenstein Convent is located on a hill in the village of Werthenstein, which is close to the industrial town of Wolhusen and 17 km southwest of Sursee. It has a beautiful pilgrimage church which was built in the period (1608-1616) and a nice cloister; it is on the Route of St James. At the foot of the hill, the convent is linked to the village by an attractive covered wooden bridge over the River Emme dating from 1774-1775.
