The Voliere Aviary is located in the Arboretum on Mythenquai and the heated visitors’ hall is open throughout the year. Run by the Voliere Society of Zurich for more than 100 years, the aviary caters for the well-being of all birds and takes in injured birds. There are always between 80 and 100 birds of some 40 different species, mainly exotic and including giant crown pigeons from New Guinea, Bali starlings, bat parrots, sugar birds, colourful toucans and tragopans, iridescent trogons and many other species.
