The 48 metre high tower belonging to the Urania Observatory dates back to 1905 and is equipped with a 20 ton Zeiss telescope through which you can see the stars, planets and galaxy on clear days; the observatory is closed during bad weather. Centrally located, there is a panoramic view of the distant Alps and the lake; helpful staff will point out noteworthy places. The popular Jules Verne Bar, the city’s highest, is directly below, and also has a magnificent panorama of the city and surrounding area.
