The Typorama is located in Bischofszell some 19 km northwest of St Gallen and, for those interested in printing and its history, a visit will be a real nostalgic delight. The museum’s machine and equipment collection all operate on a daily basis and are in production. They go back to the 19th Century and 20th Century and the days of ‘hot type’ printing with molten lead cast into letters and lines of type (as opposed to ‘cold type’ computer set printing). The museum is about 1,000 square metres and the guided tour lasts about one and a half hours.
