The Stein am Rhein town hall is a beautiful and well preserved old building dating from 1539-1542 and contains a small museum housed on the second floor in the so-called Advice Hall. The room is preserved in its original form, with oak columns and curved timbered ceiling. Amongst the exhibits are weapons from the 15th to the 19th Centuries from the former armoury, a magnificent pistol collection, 17th Century gold and silver objects, flags and banners from the 15th-17th Centuries, glass coat of arms discs and much more. You need to make prior arrangements to visit.
