In the beginning of the third millennium B.C. the inhabitants of Clendy and Champ-Pittet carved blocks from the glacial moraines to form human silhouettes. These Menhirs were erected almost certainly for a religious purpose. They are in two alignments of four groups, arranged in semicircles. The biggest are 4.5m high and weight more than 5 tons, in contrast the smallest, which measure only 40-60cm and have neatly carved heads. The Menhirs were reset in 1986 by the Commune of Yverdon-les-Bains. This rearranged site is classified as a historical monument under the protection of the Swiss confederation.
