The Stemmler Museum in Sporrengasse displays an extensive collection of stuffed zoological exhibits, assembled over many years by the furrier and naturalist Carl Stemmer (1882-1971). Whilst there is an emphasis on birds of prey from Europe and Siberia, especially eagles, the collection of fauna is wide ranging. The furrier’s workshop, which has both indigenous and foreign furs, is another highlight of this museum. There are exhibits which can be handled and it is a venue both very interesting and popular with children, particularly at weekends
