Stadthausquai is located between Münsterbrücke and Quaibrücke, on the left bank of the River Limmat. There you will find Bauschänzli island (see separate entry) and the Flussbad Oberer Letten, a popular river swimming haunt when the city gets too hot; it is surrounded by bars and restaurants. Stadthausquai is also home to the Frauenbad, a women-only public baths or lido, which at nights turns into the stylish Barfussbar (barefoot bar), with live music and where men are allowed in after eight pm! The popular traditional Christmas ‘Lichterschwimmen’, when 800 candles are launched on the river also takes place in Stadthausquai.
