When visiting the local museum or the Haslach lido (see separate entries) at Wilchingen, some 18 km west of Schaffhausen, allow some time to include St Othmar’s Church. Built in 1676 and incorporating the 15th century tower, it is located on a vine covered hill overlooking the village. The first transept church in German speaking Switzerland, it also served as the model for the reformed church in Zurzach (see separate entry). Concerts by the Schaffhausen College of Music take place here and there are also autumn concerts given by the Stadtharmonie Schaffhausen
