The town of Sigriswil is situated about 11 km southeast of Thun and the first Sigriswil Church dates from around the year 1000; the present church complex including the parsonage is a protected monument. A second church was built in the 15th century incorporating the original tower and, in 1678/1679, alterations were carried out giving the church its present appearance. There are many historic features, including the remains of a 13th century fresco, the font and Renaissance pulpit from 1506 and the 17th century communion table and timber ceiling. In 2003/04, the church was given new windows by Walter Loosli, depicting biblical scenes.
