Rieterpark is located adjacent to Belvoir Park and bounded by Seestrasse, Gablerstrasse, Scheidegstrasse and Brunaustrasse; it is Zürich’s largest and most impressive landscaped garden. It encompasses both the Villa Wesendonck, said to be an exact replica of the Roman Villa Albani, and the Park-Villa Rieter, which form part of the Rietberg Museum (see separate entry). The Park Villa-Schönberg, used as an arts, conference and music venue, is also within the park, which was acquired by the city in 1945. It is an ideal picnic spot with magnificent old trees and is also used for open-air festivals.
