With its unusual oval nave, the Reformed Church in Horgen, about 6 km southeast of Thalwil, is a prominent landmark and well worth a visit. It was built in rococo style in the period 1780-1782 by Johann Jakob Haltiner and is a national protected building. It was designed as a place of assembly, with the people crowding around the pulpit and christening and communion taking place in the centre of the church. Notable features are the cantilever roof construction, the 70.5 metre tall bell tower and the outstanding plasters by the Vorarlberg artist Andreas Moosbrugger (1722-1787)
