Opened in 1998, the museum displays the private collection of Judith U. Hunger and is privately financed. The exhibits, which are from the period 1870-1950 and from all over the world, are being continuously increased; they are made from a variety of materials including porcelain, celluloid, wood, gypsum and wax. The collection is artistically displayed in lifelike scenes, such as a pharmacy, butcher’s shop and kitchen, etc. with careful attention to lighting. The museum stages special temporary exhibitions on selected topics and there is also a shop. Check opening times from the website.
