The open-air Pfungen Lido is situated about 8 km west of Winterthur; it was opened in 1962 and renovated in 1992/93. The 25-metre swimmers’ pool is complemented by a non-swimmers’ pool, a diving pool with 1-metre and 3-metre platforms and a children’s paddling pool, all under lifeguard supervision. Other features include a children’s playground, beach volleyball court, grassed areas with shade suitable for both sunbathing and picnics and a games area for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis and other sports. Facilities provided include changing cubicles, lockers, showers, toilets and parking. There is a kiosk, a restaurant and a barbeque area.
