Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (1746-1827) lived in Yverdon Castle for twenty years (from 1805 to 1825). In this time he instituted a centre of education for boys. The Records and Research Centre Pestalozzi Yverdon (RRCPY) was founded in 1977 to arouse and maintain the public interest in Pestalozzi and his work. An additional purpose is to encourage scientific debate about Pestalozzi’s life and to enrich and spread knowledge about Pestalozzi. There is a twenty-five minutes audio-visual program as well as a complete library of Pestalozzi’s works and letters (including all the volumes of the Kritische Ausgabe).
