Nussbaumer Lake (Nussbaumersee) is located about 7.5 km southwest of Stein am Rhein and in a protected area between Nussbaumen and Uerschhausen. The lake has a surface area of 0.252 km˛ (about 62 acres) and is a peaceful place for swimming and a day’s outing. There is a diving tower in the lake with one-metre and three-metre platforms and plenty of grassed areas with shade suitable for both sunbathing and picnics. Entry is free and there is parking, a barbeque area and ample room for games.
