Located in Willisau, some 12 km southwest of Sursee, is a fascinating instrument collection, at present located in the old Town Mill, which opened in 2002 as a cultural centre. Over more than 50 years, Christian Patt rebuilt and reconstructed some 260 instruments, all roughly from the period 1300-1700. During a guided tour, you can listen to the sound of and try to play these instruments, which include a marine trumpet and a ‘Serpentine Instrument’.
