The Military Museum, housed in the Schaffhausen cantonal armoury since January 2005, was designed and attractively displayed by the architect Manuel Bergamini and the artist Erwin Gloor. The exhibits cover a wide range and relate to the Swiss army in the 19th and 20th centuries, they include personal equipment, guns and canons, ammunition, military vehicles, communication and survey equipment and historic brass musical instruments. The foundation ‘Stiftung Museum im Zeughaus’, which sponsors the museum, was set up by Martin Huber, Jürg Zimmermann and Karl Bauert, whose private collections are on display.
