Lützelsee, one of the most attractive small lakes in the Zürich canton, is located near Hombrechtikon approximately 8 km northwest of Rapperswil and has a surface area of about 13 hectares (32 acres). It is a protected area and home to the stork and many other bird species. Features, other than lake swimming, include a children’s paddling pool, float, one-metre and two-metre diving platforms, a children’s playground, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and a games area for Frisbee, badminton, etc. Facilities include changing cubicles, showers and toilets, boat hire and ample parking. There are barbeque facilities, a kiosk and a restaurant.
