When visiting Sarnen, one of its great attractions is swimming in the two lakes in the area, the Sarnersee and the Lungernsee. A number of these lake swimming places, whilst offering fewer facilities than the larger lidos, are in most attractive locations. The Seebad Wilen falls into this category and lies on the western shore of the Sarnersee and some 2.5 km southwest of Sarnen. Whilst its facilities are limited to a float, a snack bar, a grassed area with shade for sunbathing and for picnics, changing cubicles, showers and toilets, this will not deter dedicated lake swimmers.
