The Knie Children’s Zoo, a true delight for the young, is in the same ownership as the Circus Museum (see separate entry) and Switzerland’s main circus. Elephants, rhinoceros and zebras are amongst the animals that can be petted and fed. There are rides on ponies and elephants and sea lions perform tricks several times a day. More than 300 animals of over 50 different species can be seen, but no predators. Some of the animals are circus animals not on tour. Other attractions include a steam engine, pirate ship, a whale for the youngsters to climb and two restaurants.
