The International Watch Company Museum opened its completely redesigned museum in 2007, on the ground floor of the main building. It replaced the attic museum, opened in 1993, which marked the company’s 125th anniversary. There are some 230 historic items on display and these are complemented by a multi-media information system, watch catalogues from 1900 onwards, historic machine tools and other related objects and documents. Highlights include ornately decorated dress watches, the very first IWC wristwatches, ladies’ watches encrusted with gemstones and ‘Il Destriero Scafusia’, said to be one of the most complicated wristwatches the world has ever seen.
