The International Tree Archive museum (TBA), which opened in 1968, is located in the historic Villa Bidermann and is the only museum of its kind in the world. It was founded by the photographer Verena Eggmann (1946-1997) and its huge collection of photographs of trees and forests covers fourteen different countries. It also embraces the cultural history and significance of trees in many fields, including religion, symbolism, literature, art, fairy tales, politics, psychology and customs, and displays many interesting objects. The museum has changing thematic exhibitions and events.
