Bad Zurzach lies on the River Rhine, which forms the boundary between Switzerland and Germany and has an exceptionally rich history. The district museum (Bezirksmuseum ‘Höfli’) documents the development and history of the town and district and has a particular focus on artefacts from Roman times. From the late Middle Ages onwards, Zurzach turned into an important market town. A section of the museum is devoted to the part played in the town’s development by the textile industry and the famous Zuberbühler Company. The exhibits are wide ranging and include agriculture and handicrafts.
