For keen swimmers, the airport town of Grenchen, located approximately 11 km west of Solothurn, has an indoor bathing complex, the Schwimmhalle Grenchen, in addition to its open-air lido complex (see separate entry). The 25-metre swimmers’ pool is complemented by a non-swimmers’ pool and is under lifeguard supervision. Facilities include changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets, but there is no food outlet. Please check opening times; as this is a school pool and at present is only open to the public on week day evenings (except Wednesdays) and weekend afternoons during the winter.
