The Kornhaus in the harbour area, built in the period 1746-1748, is a landmark and an emblem of Rorschach and houses the interesting local museum. The museum opened in 1935 and the building was restored in 1956-58; the wide-ranging exhibits cover pre-history, nature, the town development, the textile industry and much more. Of particular interest are the building and city models and the reconstructions of the huts of the early dwellers. Works of the local painter Theo Glinz (1890-1962) are on display and art exhibitions are staged.
