Gais is located about 15 km southeast of St Gallen, in the canton of Appenzell, and the Schwimmbad Gais is an open-air bathing complex on the outskirts of the town. The 25-metre swimming pool has the added attraction of a children’s paddling pool. Other features include a waterslide, one-metre springboard, a children’s playground, grassed areas with shade suitable for both sunbathing and picnics and a games area for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis and other sports. Facilities include changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets. There is a snack bar serving light lunches.
