There has been a Fishing Museum with its associated hatchery in Zug since 1888 and the fish-breeding section always attracts both adults and children. From December to May the development from eggs to spawn can be observed of the Lake Zug red trout as well as whitefish, pike and brown trout. The museum features the Zug glass fish breeding container, an invention dating back to 1882. Amongst the other interesting items in the museum are, a bridal wreath made out of fish scales, a complete and fully equipped dug-out canoe and both ancient and modern fishing equipment.
