The sculpture ‘Fanfare’ stands in front of the Kunsthaus (see separate entry); it was created in the 1970s and is by the Zürich born sculptor Robert Müller (b.1920). It was originally intended for a school in Langenthal. Muller is regarded as one of Switzerland’s more important abstract sculptors in metal; his works from the 1960s and 1970s such as ‘Fanfare’ were often on a monumental scale and sometimes involved materials such as concrete. An interesting feature of this sculpture is the contrast between large elements and small details.
