If you are visiting the large Jemoli store known as the ‘House of Brands’ and which was established in 1833, you will notice, and be intrigued by, the up to three metre high modern metal sculptures opposite. They are by the Zürich sculptor Kurt Laurenz Metzler b.1941 created in 1978-79. The group consists of three rather puzzled looking people, a married couple and their child, which he decided to call ‘Einkaufende Zürcher Familie’ (Family out Shopping). Metzler’s work is internationally known and appears in a number of Swiss cities, mostly in public places.
