Located in Glärnischstrasse, at the junction with Bleicherweg, is a small bronze lion mounted on a Castione granite pedestal four metres high with a round free standing trough in front. It is the work of Otto Münch (1885-1965) dating from 1933. The German artist’s most important works are considered to be the ornate Zwingli and Bible bronze doors for the Grossmünster Church (see separate entry) in Zürich. The elegant lines and simplicity of this well proportioned fountain give it great charm.
