The historic Custor Haus in Eschenbach, located approximately 8.5 km east of Rapperswil-Jona, was built in 1771 by Josef Anton Custor. It is regarded as an outstanding example of the superb construction of this period and was proclaimed by Custor as the ‘most beautiful house in the country’. The decorative country house suffered from frequent changes of ownership, poor maintenance and subdivision, until 1970 when it was bought and restored to its original condition by the company Geberit AG. It was sold to the municipality in 2007 and is now hired out for private functions and used for cultural events and weddings
