The Museum for Clocks and Mechanical Musical Instruments is located in the 1518 manor house of the historic Wichterheer estate in Oberhofen am Thunersee on Lake Thun, about 5.5 km southeast of Thun. The majority of the exhibits come from two former private collections, Hans-Peter Hertig (clocks) and Kurt Matter (mechnaical music). The guided tour of this fine museum covers seven centuries of history, including an antique workshop. You can also listen to the music boxes and other mechanical musical instruments, including barrel organs, and admire the wide range of pocket and wrist watches, clocks and other historic timepieces.
