The popular municipal gardens are in the Albisrieden district of Zürich, having originally been located on the site in Mythenquai, which now houses the Succulent Plant Collection (see separate entry). Whilst the primary purpose of the gardens is to grow some 250,000 plants for public display in the city, it is worth a visit to see the thousands of flowers, botanical rarities, tropical and subtropical plants and much more. Helpful information is available for keen gardeners and there is a shop.
