The Caves of Vallorbe opened to the public in April 1992. This was the result of many years work to expose the minerals. Within sections dug in the rock visitors can admire an exceptional collection of approximately 250 minerals of international renown. These minerals are placed in windows with special lighting, by optical fibre, making them appear like gems in jewel cases. Guided tour are available, but do bear in mind the temperature in the caves drops to between 8 and 10°C, so do take adequate clothing. Access is approximately 10 minutes walk from the car park.
