The rich Cathedral Treasury is housed in the crypt in the basement of the tower, which can incidentally be climbed and at 62 metres (203 feet), provides outstanding views. The treasury contains exhibits of the goldsmith’s art, papal coins and textiles and vestments from the 15th to 19th centuries. The highlights are the Hornbacher Sacraments (Reichenau, ca. 983) and Bendl and Manlich’s splendid statue of the Virgin Mary from the same year.
