The Berry Museum is dedicated to doctor and painter, Peter Robert Berry (1864-1942), and is housed in the Villa Arona in the heart of St Moritz. Berry studied art in Paris and Munich and was inspired and influenced by the work of Giovanni Segantini (1858-1899) and Giovanni Giacometti (1868-1933). He was virtually undiscovered, compared with these two great artists; the museum enables proper appreciation of his artistic vision and his life. Berry’s subject was the St. Moritz and the Upper Engadine region and the family collection includes the majority of his 40 years work, consisting of oil paintings, pastels and drawings.
