The small town of Beromünster, with its landmark Blosenbergturm transmitter tower, is located about 9 km northeast of Sursee. The attractive St Michael’s church originally belonged to a monastery founded by Count Bero of Lenzburg in 980. The Romanesque church was rebuilt in 1606 and renovated in Baroque style in 1775. The eye-catching statue on a fluted column, the 1609 choir stalls and the treasury are the main features. The castle, which is the local museum, had the first printing press in Switzerland in the 1470s.
