Basserdorf, about 14 km northeast of Zürich, has the Hallenbad Geeren indoor bathing complex, in addition to the open-air Hasenbühl Lido (see separate entry). Its 25-metre swimmers’ pool and 12-metre non-swimmers’ pool are both under lifeguard supervision. There is a sauna and a solarium, but other facilities are limited to changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets. There are no food outlets. From October to March on the first Friday of the month there are special evenings with late night swimming, music, etc. The facility is open the whole year round except for a maintenance period in the summer school holidays.
