The town of Balstahl, located about 20 km northeast of Solothurn, has an indoor bathing complex, the Hallenbad Falkenstein, as well as its attractive open-air Moos lido (see separate entry). The 25-metre swimmers’ pool is supplemented by a 10-metre non-swimmers’ pool, both at 28°C and under lifeguard supervision. The complex is open from about the end of September until around the end of April (see website). There are various pool accessories, a solarium, changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets, but no food outlets.
