The Schwimmbad Bachdelle on the River Rhine at Dachsen, 7 km southwest of Schaffhausen, is an idyllic spot in a forest clearing and an ideal place for a family outing. The ferry taking visitors to the Rhine Falls stops here and the lido offers both river swimming and on shore pools. The open-air swimmers’ pool is supplemented by non-swimmers’ pool, there is also a creek where children can sail boats and build dams. Facilities include ample grassed sunbathing areas with shade, a games area for Frisbee, badminton and other sports, changing cubicles, showers, toilets, a kiosk and a barbeque area.
