The Aviation Museum is located at the St Gallen-Altenrhein airport, about 5 km northeast of Rorschach in the Flughafenstrasse. If you are visiting the intriguing Altrenheim Market (see separate entry), the museum is right next door and is worth a visit. The histories of the Swiss Air Force, past aviators, the development of the airfield, aircraft engines and of the former Dornier Company are all subjects covered. There are many historic planes including the Hawker Hunter and De Havilland Vampire.
