Augustinergasse is a street no visitor to Zürich should miss, particularly when the Christmas lights are on. Located off the Bahnhofstrasse, this romantic narrow street is home to numerous 14th to 18th century houses with ornate bay windows and painted facades. Augustinergasse is also an attractive shopping area with some of Zürich’s most stylish boutiques, book and antique shops. At No 9 is the James Joyce Foundation and there is the 12th century Augustinerkirche overlooking Münzplatz, which was used as a mint during the Reformation. Have a drink at one of the many boulevard cafes and admire these beautiful buildings.
