Located in the basement of the University of Zürich at 73 Rämistrasse, the Archaeological Collection is a fascinating entry into the ancient world. It contains artefacts mainly from southern Europe and the Middle East. There is a collection of intricately painted Greek vases, Roman tools, an entire mummy, a wide selection of Etruscan ware and many replicas of the great ancient classical statues. It also provides an insight into the lives of the Neo-Babylonian kings, the death rituals of the ancient Egyptians and Etruscan culture.
