Appenzell is located about 18 km south of St Gallen and the Appenzeller Badi is a solar heated open-air bathing complex on the outskirts of the town, with lifeguard supervision. The 50-metre swimmers’ pool is supplemented by a non-swimmers’ pool, a diving pool with 1-metre and 3-metre platforms and a children’s paddling pool with a galleon. Other features include various water accessories, a children’s playground, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and games areas for Frisbee, badminton, etc. Facilities include changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets. There are barbeque places and a restaurant.
