Located close to St Oswald’s Church (see separate entry), in the ornately decorated Mission House of the Sisters of Saint Peter Claver (the patron saint of slaves), is the Afrika Museum which contains an interesting display of masks and fetishes. These come mainly from the Hamite and Bantu tribes from Central Africa. The collection also includes ivory and ebony carvings, jewellery, musical instruments, stuffed African animals, hunting equipment and implements, household utensils, tools and nail fetishes.
